Error: socket hang up

I have completed all of the steps in the installation video for max and have my shopify monitor up and running. However, for all the stores I have added to the monitor list, all I get is "Error: stock hang up" and "invalid shopify site", even though I followed all of the steps step-by-step. Someone please help me resolve this.
