Thunderstore "install with mod manager" not working

Etherios55 opened this issue · 5 comments

The download with mod manager button on the thunderstore doesn't function correctly. When pressing the button my firefox came up with a page saying ror2mm protocol isn't recognised.

I manually entered the protocol and pointed it at the r2modman.exe in the bin folder, but when i press the download with mod manager button it opens a new mod manager window which is missing my profile and no mod is downloaded.

Installing mods manually or from within the available mods tab and running the game works perfectly however.

The manager doesn't support the "Install with Mod Manager" button.
A couple of managers have support for it, and it is something I'd like to add eventually, however it isn't actually a problem.

I've been focusing on the mod downloads and installs directly within the application, and I'm glad to hear they are working correctly.

It's my mistake then, when i read "Thunderstore Integration" i thought that meant the install with manager button, not just the installing of mods within the manager its self. Keep up the good work!

I can see the misunderstanding, that's entirely my fault.

The integration includes both updating mods, and installing their dependencies directly from the manager using Thunderstore's API. It also has the ability to link local mods to their Thunderstore equivalent, providing locally installed mods with the previous functionality.

All of those features are working perfectly for me.
Only issue ive seen is sometimes it will take upwards of 1 1/2 minutes to load, while most of the time it will load in under 20-30 seconds.

The loading is dependent on your connection to Thunderstore. During your load, there are two phases.

  1. The progress bar moving from side to side means that the mod list is being downloaded.
  2. The progress bar steps are when each image is being downloaded.
Not being connected to the internet skips this, however nothing will be visible in the Available tab.

"Install with Mod Manager" support has just been added. You can grab it from Thunderstore if you're interested in giving it a go.
