Save My Commit exercise is unclear

I'm not sure when I'm done with the exercise, "it obviously has something to do with rebase and reset," and "I know that there are two different observations to make?". But the description of the exercise doesn't really leave me with the feeling that I've completed the exercise, or that I have made "all the observations that's intended from the exercise."
