Bootup Encrypted password indication

What Happened?
First let me thank you guys for supporting this old laptop. I really appreciate having a nice operating system that will run on this thing.
I've noticed that when starting the computer it doesnt come up with a place to enter the encrypted password. It's just a blank screen. Now, I can enter my password and it will start up fine. I wasn't sure if this is really an issue or done by design so I thought I'd make it known.
Here are my computer specs:

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD®/ATI] Wrestler [Radeon HD 6250]

Thanks so much,
Scott
