Mezzanine board SMA order

Opened this issue · 2 comments

To reduce costs, the mezzanine board should be designed with a 2-layer stackup. A 50Ω impedance can be achieved with approximately 0.7mm-wide tracks and 0.15mm ground clearance, routed as coplanar waveguides (CPW). However, with this track geometry, routing one of the tracks from the "back row" becomes impractical, as it would need to pass between pins in the "front row."

This issue could be resolved by reordering the SMA connectors, which would have to be addressed in the software.

Just use 4 layer PCB, it's not going to be high volume product.
