Sensor reading issue

Thanks for this plugin! I followed the instructions and it is working well except for the sensor reading. It will not read the sensor plugged into input 0 unless I enable the pull up by using the command "gpio -p mode 0 up" from wiring pi. Did I not set something up correctly?

I used the default jumper configuration and did not install wiringpi since it is not necessary. I am guessing by installing wiringpi created some sort of problem.
