[option] Auto message reloading when a user message is edited

I'd like to see a new feature (could also be an option in the preferences) like the official ChatGPT site, when you edit your message, it would automatically reload/retry the system's message, instead of having to retry/reload the message manually.

How do we also preserve the current behavior? (sometimes people want to edit a message back in the history to refer back to it, but don't want to have the history being cut and regenerated from there)

I see what you mean. Although you could implement a feature where if you hold shift when you hit the retry button, it'll cut and regenerate it from there, you could still keep the classic behavior of editing and keeping chat history by simply not holding shift.
