I tried to connect to the database . but I can not

I tried a lot but it does not work with me
I found the config file and it was telling me that
the database is "dvwa"
the username is "root"
the password is ""

and I tried the module sql_console & sql_dump
also tried to use "mysql -u root"

not working .
please help !.
