Can you add support for swiping on the screen to change the selected page, also triggering the appropriate nav bar animations?

The swiping will never be supported in this widget: this is a bottom navigation bar. When the controller will be implemented, you'll be able to add a page view in your body and react swipping events to change the current selected icon.
