Don't require dot for explicit map file format

In #46 it was made possible to explicitly state the mapping file's format from the CLI (separate from the file extensions). However, this currently still requires the inclusion of the dot (.), as if it is a file extension. Ideally, this dot is made optional for explicitly state mapping file formats
