iPhone screen gets locked while ESpeak is still reading

Normally the phone's screen doesn't get locked when VoiceOver is in the middle of reading something - I mean when it utilizes its own built-in voices. However, with ESpeak, my Auto-lock setting, available from the Display window under Settings, gets activated and reading is abruptly stopped. My Auto-lock time is set to 30 seconds.
The easiest way to test this would be to go to, say, a long What'sApp message - something whose reading time is longer than your Auto-lock setting. If you just move to that message, ESpeak's reading will be interrupted as your Auto-lock setting kicks in.

@djphoenix One extra point worth noting is that if the length of an utterance is longer than our Auto-lock period, the screen will be locked. So such long utterances might come from a long paragraph in Read to End, a long What'sApp message which gains focus, a long Instagram message, etc. Just wondering if the development kit allows you to control or circumvent/adjust this Auto-lock period.

Based on further exploration and investigation I'm going to close this. It seems that other VoiceOver voices are equally affected so this isn't an ESpeak-specific issue.
