4. ru
/Library/Application\
Support/ETVComskip/MarkCommercials.app/Contents/MacOS/MarkCommercials all

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

this should mark the commercials.
i see the following error instead on all prerecorded shows:

Unable to open mpeg2 file return from "comskip": 2

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

snow leopard, eglato 3.4.2 and latest comskipper (i think it's 2.0.2)

Please provide any additional information below.

I had this problem and took a look at the files that were installed. The
"comskip" folder in "/Library/Application Support/ETVComskip/" had permissions
that were pretty restrictive and once I changed my user to the owner it started
working.

yeah i think that's it. Here is/was my background.

1. i have a multiple users. Account A was the initial account on the mac so i
assume this is some root privileges.
2. i never use this account.
3. i use account B for all software installation and use it on a day to day
basis.
4. i have never had a problem before.
5. installed etv-comskip and it asked me for the password for user B (which
typically happens during software installation).
6. As pointed out by da.man.dan, the comskip directory is owned with R/W by
user A???? and user B had no permissions to this directory. After changing
everything in and including the directory to user B with R/W it's now working.

So it seems like an installation issue.

I also changed the permissions and this worked as well.
