"Start contributing" Profile link does nothing if on the projects page

A slightly awkward interaction here. This link takes the user to the /projects page but if I'm already on the page, it appears to do nothing.

I'm open to suggestions but I think clicking this link should also close the Profile component, so it's obvious the action has taken place.
