I'd like to give an update on EIP-1559. For background, this post describes the current status of the work. Since publishing, Nethermind has also started working on an implementation.
I believe the major questions to answer on AllCoreDevs related to 1559 are:
- What do we see as the biggest risks of this proposal? On ACD#77, the DoS risk was mentioned. Is this the only major risk we see? If so, what are potential mitigations (lower slack factor in 1559? EIP-2929? Snapshot sync?)
- What type of testing would we like to see from 1559 before it gets considered for ephemeral testnets?
- Aside from EIP-2718, are there any other EIPs we see this potentially overlapping with? How do we proactively address that?
Also, it would be good to get various team's feedback on this PR and its benefits to the EIP: ethereum/EIPs#2924
I can provide an update on EIP-2565 which has a few minor updates to the specification (ethereum/EIPs#2892)
I would like to know the current thoughts around
- EIP-2718 and EIP-2930 as candidates for YoloV3 -- they have been implemented in geth here: ethereum/go-ethereum#21502
- the status of EIP-2711 -- it applied for CFI a few calls ago
- the status of EIP-2584
There is a correction for EIP-2537 with new gas values in a PR draft. It can be merged and made directly into YoloV2 or I can postpone it to YoloV3 (if it happens) or Berlin directly cause it's just change of constants.
In addition with a recent expiration of faster EC point multiplication patent it's finally possible to at least have fast subgroup checks for pairings. This does not change a spec of EIP-2537 (well, gas costs will change and be lowered) and only touches implementations and I'd like to coordinate this work together with James Prestwich and EIP-2539.
I would like to briefly summarize the discussion on EIP-2938 over the last two weeks and gather opinions on moving the EIP to CFI (for possible inclusion after Berlin).

Is the thursday's meeting streaming public like this one?
@mohsenghajar the EIP-1559 meetings aren't livestreamed, but uploaded to Youtube afterwards. It should be on the same YT channel in the 24hrs after the call :-)
