Cann't reconnect to pwnagotchi via USB after initial setup

After the initial connection and setup for the Pwnagotchi (on the Raspberry Pi Zero W) I can't seem to reconnect to the device again nor establish a SSH connection or even ping the device. Every time I reconnect it via USB to my host Linux PC, the interface name changes from usb0 to enx6e96472f3a08, then gets the same name from then on out and creates a new blank profile in the network connections, just like the first time it got connected, but when I set the static IP, netmask and gateway it won't respond to pings, the web UI doesn't work anymore and I can't SSH into it. This happens even after deleting the created network profiles and rebooting the pc and Pwnagotchi. I tried both v1.5.5 and v1.5.3 but the problem persists (I opted for the v1.5.3 as the 1.5.5 has some issues). The Pwnagotchi itself works great btw, everything worked great the first time i booted it. I can do all configurations on the PC with an SD adapter, but I'd like it to be able to reconnect to the PC again as well for obvious convenience reasons. Also worth noting that the problem sometimes occurs even when I reinstalled Pwnagotchi and booted it for the first time, but it mostly works on first boot.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. flash Pwnagotchi v1.5.3 or v1.5.3 to sd card
2. boot first time connected to host PC (in my case Linux Mint 21.1) via USB communications port on RPi Zero W
3. reboot Pwnagotchi connected via USB communications port again

• Pwnagotchi version = 1.5.3, 1.5.5
• OS version = Linux Mint 21.1
• Type of hardware = Raspberry Pi Zero W
• Any additional hardware used = Waveshare ST7735S 1.44 Inch LCD Hat SPI Interface (which works awesome for me, tho I didn't come around yet to make the buttons on it work)
