slider images dissapear after lots of work!

Liking this plugin, BUT....
I'm creating slides with 3-4 images each. Twice now I have gotten almost done perfecting two slides when suddenly all the images I've placed and timed suddenly disappear. I have been saving as I go, but it's like I did not save at all, except the slides are there, just no separate images on the slides.
I see no images anymore in the Crelly editor, though they were there.
The first time this happened I thought I had fallen asleep somehow and hit delete, but not this time.
I'm using Divi, if that matters.
If there was some kind of auto save it would have saved me some work. Now I have to go to another plugin/method to build what I want to do, unless I can be sure I won't lose my work when editing.

BTW, I had 3 - 4 images each on two slides, animating nicely. Now all are missing.
If it were a memory issue I'd think the previous version would play on my site, as I have been saving as I go, but nope. nothing there either.
