long running approval jobs seem to get locked up?

I had a job waiting on the approval step that I left for 11 hours on DevTools OSO and the Proceed & Abort links in the jenkins console didn't seem to do anything any more. I eventually had to just kill the build.
I wonder if the build pods go unresponsive after a while?
