Test-Overlay remains black

Closed this issue · 7 comments

Hi Fabian,

The 'rainbow' output works fine after I upload the code to Arduino but the LED's just turn off when I check 'LED-Output' in the PC software.

The Test-Overlay squares remain black regardless of the screen background. I'm not sure what the problem is but I feel like the background is not being captured.

I'm running Windows 10 and using Arduino UNO. A solution would be very appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi @mohit-goyal-mht ,

Just one obvious question for the start: did you tried to disable the overlay when using the led output?
(because the overlay itself influences the detected colors. a feedback loop! the software detects its own black overlay and decides to output black on the leds.

if you checked this, please provide:

  • a screenshot of the adrilight window with your settings

We will sort this out :-)

Thanks for the response :)
I disabled the overlay and tried the LED-Output but LED's still don't want to turn on.
Here is the screenshot of the settings that I am using.
adrilight troubleshooting 1

i cannot find any obvious error and the latest public release has no logging data yet. I need to make a new release and then you should use that if we both have some luck, we will find an error in the logs.

There is one last thing: only one application can grab the screen at any given time using so you should restart your maschine (just to be sure) and then avoid anything, which is capable of screen capture.

From what i can see so far it really should work!

Restart didn't help. :(

I found 'Bambilight' by MrBoe after searching around. Surprisingly it works!

It seems very similar to your software although it has fewer options. I also feel that the colours are a bit off and I cant find any way to calibrate them.

Any suggestions?

Yes, Windows 10. Bambilight works perfectly fine. I also found 'Ambibox' which has a lot of options but I am getting very low framerates. Finally 'Prismatic' which works perfectly for me.

the new release has a new preview feature, you may upgrade and reopen the issue, if it still exists in the new version!
