Separate specific stems only

Hi there, I haven't seen options to export specific stems only. I'm using Reaper and building custom actions to call demucs on currently selected audio item. It would be very useful to be able to specify "drums only" or "vocals only" if I know beforehand this is all that I want. It would save processing and time, to not have to render the unnecessary stems -- unless I'm wrong about this.
Anyways just wanted to ask if this might be possible. I can work around this and have Reaper only import the desired stem, but would love the granularity of selecting which specific stems are actually processed by demucs.
Demucs will always separate all stems altogether
Ok so this is the intended/necessary behaviour? Like does demucs have to process all 4 to function?
