Moony.lv2 does not receive MIDI input

Hello,
I'm trying to use moony.lv2 in Carla to process MIDI input through a simple Lua script (e.g. any of the predefined scripts provided with the plugin). It works well with jalv, but when opening moony in Carla it does not seem to receive any MIDI signal into the atom event input.
The issue #472 is related to the same plugin and a similar topic. This post on reddit seems to be exactly the same issue I'm having.

I'm using Pipewire, and I've tried changing the engine to Jack with or without Alsa-midi, but no luck.
