I've inherited feline because I'm trying astronvim

One thing I'm missing from my old nvim set up is info on the split dividers.

e.g. feline/astronvim

my old config

Note how in the feline/astronvim one the divider has no info on it - I'm presuming (perhaps wrongly) that this is a feline issue?

Some (documented) way to configure info on horizontal split dividers

I'm confused by talk of "winbar" which as I understand is coming in nvim 0.8; yet it looks like I had something like it for years in my old config. I've looked through my old config and can't find any plugin that provided this.
