guppy kr_heat fails in dev branch of pplacer

I was (perhaps erroneously) running off the dev branch of pplacer (matsen/pplacer@06ce655) and hit this error, both manually and using the pplacer_demo.sh script.
$ guppy kr_heat -c vaginal_16s.refpkg/ src/p1z1r2.jplace src/p1z1r34.jplace
Uncaught exception: no classification information present
Fatal error: exception Placement.No_classif
