Feature: Add the ability to scroll from the end to the start of the tabs list

What feature or improvement do you think would benefit Files?

タブ上でマウスホイールでタブが切り替えられますがスクロールの逆順や端から逆端に行くループ機能がほしいです

A user shared a message in the Japanese support channel that suggested support for a feature that allowed scrolling from the end to the start of the tabs list in the tab bar.
Currently, it is possible to scroll in the tab bar to move between tabs. However, it is not possible to scroll directly from the last tab to the first tab, and vice versa.

For example, as shown in the image, I can scroll from Home (the first tab) to Desktop to Downloads to Documents to Music, and the other way around, but I cannot scroll directly from Music (the final tab) back to Home.

Requirements

  • This will make it easier to navigate tabs by scrolling in the tab bar.

Files Version

4.0.12.0

Windows Version

10.0.26100.6584

Thanks for the feedback, you should link this to the person on discord that requested it, if you haven't already

Can you please provide some more context? Isn't it simpler to just click the desired tab instead?

Well for example they want scroll buttons like seen in Google Chrome on the sides of the tab bar there are side arrows to click on that allows scrolling from side to side if the bar overflows and text + UI buttons can't fit on tabs anymore. Or otherwise this can be implemented as a button that when clicked shows a drop down list or hamburger menu of all active tabs or historical tabs (with bold headings next to respective icons and a separator line above and below headings) and the user chooses one to go to, then a dialog would ask in the current or new tab and weather the current tab should be closed or not (by default it is unchecked so not deleting current tabs and is redirecting to the new tab, but could be changed in settings if it defaults to new tab or redirect current tab and weather the tab gets deleted or not if it's in a new tab)

@YA-FACE-FLAT Nothing in this or the original post mentions that and it is already in Files when there are many tabs

@YA-FACE-FLAT Scroll buttons are already displayed when tabs overflow.

It seems to me that @Lamparter is requesting that tabs loop when continuously scrolling. I see how it can be a little useful, but at the same time, scrolling usually stops at the end and doesn't loop back to the beginning. Implementing this proposal would be against standard behaviors.

I'd like to see some more feedback on this before making a decision.
