When will AutoAnswer recognize wired headset?

I know you can't answer every individual question, but...
When is next version likely to be released or even made available for BETA TEST?
Many people want and NEED this feature. When driving, this is a very necessary
ability.

I installed Autoanswer. It worked great until Gingerbread. I'm using an HTC
Thunderbolt. Please fix as soon as possible. It is a great product.

I believe this app is now obsolete, as auto-answering functionality is now
built into the OS. I know 2.3 has it, but I am unsure of earlier versions.
Can anyone confirm?
Settings > Call Settings > All Calls > Answering call > Automatic Answering
