Describe the bug
A mentor has reported that he couldn't access the mentor dashboard, but instead he is seeing a student dashbaord.

It turned out that he was added as a student to a subgroup that he was not part of. There are no

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. See LMS Batch Membership with name member_name-107417 to get details about the user
  2. Notice that there is no mention of adding to subgroup in the activity
  3. Go to Cohort Doctor and seach for his email and notice that there is no join request from him.

Expected behavior
The user should not be part of any subgroup, but he is.

Remarks
Not sure why this is happening, but this kind of things are creating lot of issues and confusion. It may be due to a bug in the process of adding a user to a subgroup. I suspect that it me adding a wrong user to the subgroup.
