Automine Thru GUI doesn't work?

I bound AutoMine to Z, which is not bound to anything else, and it says:
"If you enable AutoMine through GUI, you need to press Left Click once to activate it (currently true for any GUI: inventory, chat etc.) Use Alt+TAB and F3+P (disable Pause Menu) to do other tasks while auto-mining."
I tried everything, and nothing is working.
Can someone please help me enable automine while in inventory?
