Hi, I cannot figure out how to get matrix to work.

It might be because the settings assert a room id will always start with a !, however as far as i know they always start with a #. Is there a test login button or a logfile?

sorry, figured it out, we're talking about room id here, not alias. you can find your room id under room settings -> info / about
