License key insecurities

Not sure if this is intended behaviour but after playing around with the license key we purchased, I was able to enter any number in the final digit of the license, and it still worked for my application. Some more playing around I would get a different error such as "Your license key is too old to work with this version." Just shedding some light on this, wondering if it's a security issue or expected behaviour. Thanks!

The license key simply identifies the license and checks which versions it's valid for, it's not intended to be secure/secret.
