There is no cursor visible in the initial state

When opening a fresh hexwalk, and going to insert mode there is no cursor visible (both in the hex view and ascii view), so it is not visible which one is active.

I don't think this is an issue, because when you click then you'll have the cursor where you desire. Am I missing something?

There is no cursor visible for me when opening it and there being no data,
and even when there is data, I have to click again for the cursor to show:
