In DFG flow around cylinder benchmark 2D-2 on which the original FEniCS test problem was based, one of the quantities measured was:

the pressure difference p diff := p (a1)− p (a2) in the points a1 = (0.15, 0.2) and a2 = (0.25, 0.2) on the front and rear side of the cylinder over the time interval [t0, t1],

A cycle starts at a time instant t 0 where the lift coefficient CL is smallest and ends at a time instant t1 = t0 + 1/f when CL is smallest again. f defines the frequency and 1/f the length of the cycle, which should be about 1/f = 0.33 seconds simulation time.
