Hi and thank you for this issue!

I am currently not using gnome 40 as my DE but I think that this commit (directly to master 🙄) will fix the issue (assuming fans can be toggled in the same way as switches and lights). I will spawn a VM next week in order to test it and if it works I will create a new release.

Until then, you could test it yourself by using the build.sh script with the --latest option.
