Reskin README and start preparing WIKI organizing contents

The right balance between README and WIKI should be found: the overall picture at readme level while detailed tech info at WIKI level. We should also highlight somewhere:
- scopes and objectives
- where we are such as:
- making it clear what we can do now and which data format we can process/manage
- which tool we use for different process we support
- objectives for future evolutions
