BUG: Register - improper values give off the signal of successful registration

Or the other way round. anyway, what happened is that the database shows as if the user isn't registered due to a whitespace in the name attribute but infact we can login from the user and use it. Fishy :/

Even more fishy - purging the database actually fixed the issue.
Cannot reproduce bug
