Let's try to publish this edition around the end of September 2025!

Thanks!

Let's try to merge #795 in this edition.

Not sure about the Git Merge conference (September 29-30), as it might be too close to the publication, but maybe we should talk about the Git Mini Summit that happened on August 28 in Amsterdam.

Also not sure if we will have the results of all the GSoC projects as it seems that one of them got extended.

Let's try to merge #795 in this edition.

@chriscool, @jnareb I've raised #798 accordingly.

Hi folks. Just a gentle reminder in case #798 has been forgotten…

I won’t nag any further in case it’s usual practice to merge the PRs for the next news all in one go at month end.

Hopefully the videos weren’t so boring as to have killed the reviewers off!

Hi @sageserpent-open, It depends, but yeah, sometimes we tend to merge the PRs for the next edition towards the end of the month. Sorry about this. I understand that it might look like we are not very reactive, but on the other hand it requires fewer context switching from us which is likely to save us some time and make us a bit more productive overall.

I've got a new post on my blog about git-greb (grep -> blame) that I wouldn't mind seeing added. Selfishly, I hope the extra eyeballs might help me find a better way to script this thing and support more use cases.

Thanks @benknoble for the suggestion. @jnareb will likely take a look at it, and at @sageserpent-open's suggestions, around the end of this month.

@jnareb, there is also #800 that we might want to merge. By the way let me know if you prefer that I handle such PRs or if you prefer to handle them yourself.

Another contribution for this months newsletter: #801. Thanks for considering

Also, the Persian translation of the ProGit book is now complete: progit/progit2-fa#19 (comment)

Merged in 4e68347 .

Whatever you prefer. I don't need to be a gatekeeper, but on the other hand side, if you want me to examine PR to decide whether they are worth including, I can do that.

Merged in 3f38377 (then reformatted)

Thanks @jnareb for the great links and for taking into account all the requests!

Sorry for the delay. I think I will also add a small article about the Git Merge and the Contributor's Summit. (This could justify a bit the delay.)
