freezes on Mac OS 10.6.8

Hi Greg,
Leonhard is quite promising for my purposes, unfortunately i never got it to run properly as it freezes after a little while on Mac OS 10.6.8 on a MBP8,1, and it doesn't seem to run on Mac OS 10.9 at all.
Can you please tell me a working system environment to set up for running Leonhard?
