Communicate when service downtime is effecting streaming

Yesterday Hulu was offline, and the only way I knew this was by googleing "Hulu server statue". Why can the tvOS not alert me to when there is a streaming interruption? instead of me quitting the app and reopening it multiple times.

Example:

When you try to lead the and app or stream a video:
"We are having trouble talking with Hulu, there servers appear to be down. We can notify you when they are back or you can try 'This other app which also has what your trying to watch ' "
"You are connected to the internet but the Hulu app is having trouble connecting to its servers. We will let you know when they are back online."
