We're looking for a source of funding

Currently dep does not have a financial sponsor - either a company who is paying someone to work on dep, or a company or entity that is paying the maintainers directly to work on the project.

We would like to explore opportunities for sponsorship so we can spend more time working on the dep project, and helping it continue to work with Go.

Anything is on the table:

  • Patreon style donations
  • Open Collective
  • Your company's logo on the website/README
  • Your company's name in the default "dep init" text
  • Counting dep maintenance time as an "in kind" contribution

At the moment we are not sure what structure we'd use to distribute contributions to maintainers; we wanted to gauge interest first before e.g. setting up a bank account or a formal governance structure. If you are interested in sponsoring dep, please contact me: kevin@burke.services.

Thanks!

Maybe pin this issue?

Done, thanks for the suggestion.

I'd be a fan of anything where I could give in my credit card either for a one-off or something recurring ala Patreon. I guess anything would help, but what would be a ballpark for your ideal yearly funding?

How much money you need to remove GOPATH entirely?

Dep was officially deprecated earlier this year, and the proposal to archive this repository was accepted. As such, I'm closing outstanding issues before archiving the repository. For any further comments, please use the proposal thread on the Go issue tracker. Thanks!
