offline: Failure: createEsClient is not a function

Hello,
I tried to use the client in this way:
const createEsClient = require('serverless-elasticsearch-client') const client = createEsClient({ envPrefix: 'AWS_ES' })
but I got this error: offline: Failure: createEsClient is not a function
I use "serverless-elasticsearch-client": "^1.1.1"
Is it real issue or I'm doing something wrong ?

@tarambuka seems documentation is abandoned and not up to date anymore,
seems much better choice would be to use this https://github.com/elastic/elasticsearch-js
