Reaching the dev team to ask questions about mlmd implementation and roadmap

I couldn't find or see a way to reach the dev team to ask questions about the mlmd implementation or roadmap.
Is opening a project issue the only way or is there a google group/forum where we can get in touch with the folks responsible for this project?
