I guess that this is the faulty line?
Makes me think: It would be good to have a common logger as well. This would also allow to handle such compatibility problems.

It looks like astropy does provide one. But I don't get how you actually log something? To me it just says how to configure the logger.

The astropy logger seems to be easy to use. I will see that I implement this after starting with the new framework.

@azilles, about the new framework, I have merged the libs, store and tools packages in a core grand package. That was too much maintenance having specific packages for all of those. Was spending more time managing the packages than actually writing code :P Was planning to integrate radio_simus as well once everything will be stabilised. If that OK with you?
