kotlin Unresolved reference: PaperParcelXXX when kapt 'com.android.databinding:compiler:2.3.1'

This gradle config generate Unresolved reference compiling error. If I remove
kapt 'com.android.databinding:compiler:2.3.1'
everything work fine, but my data binding doesn't work. Please resolve this issue.

Data binding doesn't require you to add that line (even with Kotlin). You just need to enable it, e.g.:
dataBinding {
enabled = true
}
Other than that, I'm not sure why your data binding isn't working. Doesn't seem related to PaperParcel though.

Btw this is error produce with version 2.2.3 (com.android.databinding:compiler) not 2.3.1.
Sorry with 2.3.1 is no issue
Binding doesn't work with kotlin 1.1.1 without com.android.databinding:compiler

Something is failing in data binding (unrelated to this library). The reason why you're seeing the Unresolved reference: PaperParcelXXX messages is because paperparcel doesn't get a chance to run because data binding is failing first.
I recommend upgrading kotlin and the Android plugin to the latest stable versions. If that doesn't work, you'll need to raise an issue with Jetbrains and/or Google.

Btw, you're right that you need to add the kapt line in kotlin 1.1.1, I just tried it. No idea why! But my project still built with kotlin 1.1.1, databinding, and paperparcel.
