it seems applets/selftest can't be made successfully with latest amaranth-soc repository.
latest amaranth-soc code freezes memoryMap instance after creation, which will always lead to errors as below:
ValueError: Memory map has been frozen. Cannot add resource <luna.gateware.soc.memory.WishboneROM object at 0x1021498b0>
