Sentinel 1A orbits

Description

Dear all,

We ran the Sentinel 1A option in GROOPS to familiarize ourselves with the POD part of the program. A few questions came up when we compared our results to the ones that are on the TU Graz server(Index of /outgoing/ITSG/satelliteOrbitProducts/operational)

  • what data file were used as input to calculate the orbits and were can those be found
Note: we downloaded the S1A input files from https://scihub.copernicus.eu/gnss/#/home - AUX_POEORB and we are not sure those are the correct inputs as the data is spread over multiple days with one hour of a specific day in one file and the other 23 hours in specific day+1 from what we saw - attached in txt format - maybe some data preprocessing needs to be done?)
  • are there any s1A orbit time series available for 2021 until today at TU Graz?

Txs for the help

Are there any products available for 2021 until today?

Hi Jean,

you have to consider that AUX_POEORB files have one hour overlap with the day before and day after. For example: 15.01.2020 data is stored in the file S1A_OPER_AUX_POEORB_OPOD_20210316T225001_V20200114T225942_20200116T005942.zip.

The sentinel orbit products will be processed in the next few weeks.

Best regards,
Barbara

Hi Barbara,

thank you for the feedback with regards to the proper files to be used as input. I did figure out meanwhile that for example the 15 Jan 2020 data is located in 16 Jan 2020 orbit file

Cheers
Jean
