i heard about this client less than 30 minutes ago via fediverse. of course i had to install and test it.

I like it a lot.

only when i logged in - i only see my normal “notification timeline” but no public or federated. i click on the [+] button but nothing happens.

I have also tried installing via the app store - but nothing happens here either.

I can't reproduce it on my Mac. It works fine.

Can you please send logs of Fedistar?

and where should i put this "$ FEDISTAR_LOG_LEVEL=debug fedistar" into? terminal? result is "command not found: fedistar :)

is there a security setting i have to do befor install fedistar?

or is this only for m1 mac and above?

Your terminal. But, sorry, probably that command will not work on MacOS. Please find fedistar folder and fedistar.log.

No.

I'm checking on Intel Mac. It works on both ARM and Intel Mac.

i think i am not realy stupid :) but i am beginning to doubt my sanity

I'm not making fun of you, I'm sorry. But I don't know where the logs are saved. On my Mac, it is saved in ~/Library/Application Suppor/fedistar. But, probably, it is different from your environment. It's probably saved somewhere. I can't identify the cause unless you look for it.

as i said before

i use a

Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2019 iMac

with MacOS Ventura 13.5.2

and there is no install routine with the dmg package. that means there is no other folder with the name fedistar on my imac. only in the program folder

thank you for this information. i just tried to update fedistar to the newest version (1.9.6) but i see now a message that i cannot do it - it says it requires macos 14 - but i'm still running ventura 13.5.2.

then i probably won't be able to test the project.

thanks for the help anyway and good luck with the project
