fix bug when selecting certain profiles on directory page

On the Directories page, certain profiles crash the website when clicking on them. For instance, clicking on users like Lauren Allen and Katherine Bradley work properly and direct us to the profile, but other users like Ryan Chan and Ryan Flores crash. Investigate the /api/volunteer/:id route, but also check the console to see what could be causing the problem.
