The page loading pends on the assets (animation, images)

The page should open even when visual assets are still loading. Especially on mobile / slow networks the UX is bad, as it's just a blank page until the content is loaded.
This is somehow implemented on hackjunction.com currently, maybe that would be good benchmark.
