Remove wallpaper tint

It would be great to have an option to remove the dark tint that is laid above the lockscreen wallpaper. I have already searched in the Android source, but I can't find the location where that tint is added.

I also wanted to do this, and was looking for where it was added, but also couldn't find it. I'll look again if I have some time.
