X230 stuck on 'Starting PC DOS...'

I am currently using an X230 with no external devices connected, an original battery, and booting Legacy, and I think I've followed all of the instructions in the README correctly, but it's still stuck.

If it's of interest regarding the potential cause of the issue:

Thinkpad X230

  • i5-3320M
  • 16GB RAM
  • 1TB SATA SSD
  • 512GB mSATA SSD
  • booting from an HP V212W (16GB)

Starting PC DOS...

The computer still boots to GRUB, so no emergency, but it's strange that the USB stick just doesn't seem to want to boot.

"Starting PC DOS" should be a sign of booting from the usb drive (It's using dos with dos flash)
Tried using another usb drive / usb port or recompile the image again?
If you are feeling freaky you can use rufus to create a dos disk and load the dosflash & fl2 files to try again.
Rufus's dos disk is good to test if they problem is with the compiled image (rufus gets to boot), problem with the usb drive/port/that particular version of bios(rufus doesnt boot at all)
