"sys-clk is not running" Error upon update

Opened this issue · 6 comments

The overlay states that I need to install it properly. This issue popped up after upgrading from 1.8.3 to 1.9.2 (along with an atm update from 1.5.5 to 1.6.2 and the latest official firmware). To note, I am using the newest hekate to boot using the kip entry, and previously, the software was working perfectly.

When I did the manual update, I replaced the loader kip, and copied over the latest sd-out and oc zip files. Everything else is working fine (loading games fine, access to cfw nro library, version is showing correctly in settings). It's only the oc suite that is not working.

Further information:

I had updated to HOS 17.

My hekate ipl is as follows:

[config]
autoboot=1
autoboot_list=0
bootwait=3
verification=1
backlight=100
autohosoff=0
autonogc=1

{------- Launch -------}
[Atmosphere]
payload=bootloader/payloads/fusee.bin
kip1=atmosphere/kips/loader.kip
icon=bootloader/res/icon_atmosphere.bmp

[Horizon]
fss0=atmosphere/package3
stock=1
icon=bootloader/res/icon_horizon.bmp

you didn't copy properly. copy everything in sys-clk-oc.zip

I copied everything from the oc zip, and replaced the loader kip again. Turned off the switch and booted with hekate. Its the same issue. Booted again with fusee directly, and same issue.

that error happens when sysclk is not installed correctly (you only copied overlay and not sysmodules, or version mismatch)
it has nothing to do with kip

enable option to show hidden files in windows explorer, and don't do manual copy and copy folder as whole

I fixed the issue, here is what I did.

Move hekate ipl kips line to be below icon (lowest)
Delete the atmosphere contents folder (00FF0000636C6BFF)
In SD card/config folder - I deleted sys-clk and sys-clk-oc folders (I previously had the original sys-clk I think that was creating a conflict)
Then I copied over the kip file, oc-zip files, and sd-out files again. Rebooted switch with hekate and now it works again.

Most likely it was the config folder causing the issue or that the contents folder had an extra file (toolbox json). Anyways issue is fixed now

glad to hear issue is fixed.
that toolbox.json should not exist for sys-clk. you probably have installed 4IFIR before and its leftover causing problems.
it is recommended to do sdcard format if you have installed it before, because it does random and bad changes, and its leftover files can cause problems
