Markdown Link Styling Issue with Non-ASCII Characters

Describe the bug
When using non-ASCII characters such as "Ö", "Ä", or "Ü" in Markdown links, the styling appears to be off, even though the links are functional. I also saw it not working when the letter x is there.

Reproduction
Create a Markdown file. Add a link using the syntax link, but include "Ö", "Ä", or "Ü" in the link text or URL. Observe the link styling.
